The session examined how the always-on nature of digital asset markets is creating new regulatory and operational challenges, why fast-moving technology demands more adaptive legislation, and how AI is being adopted across the industry with trust, oversight, and human control remaining essential.

On the panel Delivering Blockchain-Based Financial Tools in Last-Mile Contexts, moderated by Ada Vaughan of the Stellar Development Foundation, alongside Jorge Fernandes (WFP Innovation Accelerator), Melyn McKay (Coala Pay), Alwin Tan (Solanax Foundation), and Freedom Pigott (FreedomPay Wallet), the discussion drew on practical deployment experience in Haiti and Kenya and examined what responsible implementation requires when conventional financial infrastructure is limited or compromised.
